At least four people were killed and three others injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a truck in Bihar's Buxar district, police said on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Pramod Singh (40), his son Bunty Kumar (12), Pappu Singh and Sonu Kumar.

Talking to reporters, Station House Officer (SHO) of Industrial Police station Sanjay Kumar said, "The incident took place when the car in which victims were travelling hit a truck from behind on the Buxar-national highway near Harkishunpur village in the early hours of Sunday. While three persons were declared dead by doctors at the hospital, another died during treatment. Three persons are still undergoing treatment and their condition is reported to be stable."

The deceased include Pramod Singh and his 12-year-old son Bunty. All the decased are relatives and residents of Rohtas district, the SHO said.


According to villagers, the incident took place when they were going to Buxar for the cremation of Phulpatia Devi, a resident of Bikramganj in Rohtas district.

Further investigation is on, the SHO added.
