To strengthen data and statistics for monitoring sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the country, the ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI), Niti Aayog, and the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office signed a five-year tripartite memorandum of understanding in February 2023, minister of state for statistics and programme implementation Rao Inderjit Singh informed Rajya Sabha on Monday.

Following this, the MoSPI established the Data for Development Coordination Forum (DDCF) on SDGs. It is co-chaired by the Director General (Central Statistics) of the National Statistical Office, MoSPI, and the UN Resident Coordinator. The DDCF's role includes developing data plans and fostering discussions with key stakeholders, he added.
