Kalyan Singh's health had deteriorated in July this year following which he was admitted to Lucknow's Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences.

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh passes away at 89
Former Uttar Pradesh CM Kalyan Singh passed away at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow, due to sepsis and multi organ failure. He was 89.

Singh was also a former Governor of Rajasthan.

He had been placed on dialysis following a deterioration of his condition. His blood pressure was low and he was not passing urine normally, according to reports.


Singh's health had deteriorated in July this year following which he was admitted to Lucknow's Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences.

He was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Sanjay Gandhi PGI on July 4.

Since then, several union ministers, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, had visited Singh.
