The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Thursday approved the appointments Nitin Gupta, former CBDT chairman, as the chairperson of National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA).

Gupta is a retired IRS officer of the 1986 batch of the Income Tax cadre. He was appointed at the helm of the CBDT in June 2022.

It appointed Smita Jhingran, former Full-Time Member, NFRA to the post of Full-Time Member, NEFRA


Further, P. Daniel, former Secretary of Central Vigilance Commission, DoPT, has been appointed to the post of Full-Time Member of NEFRA

Sushil Kumar Jaiswal, former Director General of Audit (Central receipt), Office of Director General of Audit (Central receipt), New Delhi, has been appointed as post of Full-Time Member, NEFRA.
