Food safety officials find violations at Blinkit warehouse near Hyderabad, share photos on social media

The Commissioner of Food Safety in Telangana in a social media post said that a recent inspection of a Blinkit warehouse found the premise "disorganised, unhygienic and dusty at storage racks." The authorities conducted an inspection at the Blinkit Warehouse located in Devar Yamjal, Medchal Malkajgiri District. The inspection revealed the premises to be disorganized, unhygienic, and dusty, particularly around the storage racks. There was an absence of FOSTAC or Food Safety Training and Certification-trained personnel, and food handlers were found without proper protective gear such as headgears, gloves, and aprons, the post said.

Additionally, the medical fitness certificates for the food handlers were not available. The inspection also found cosmetic products stored alongside food items at the Blinkit warehouse, which is a violation of safety standards.

The Commissioner of Food Safety in Telangana also said that the license of Whole Farm Congruence Trade and Services Pvt Ltd did not comply with the FSS Act regarding the address on the label, prompting a notice to be issued.




Products manufactured by Kamakshi Foods were found with expired licenses, leading to the seizure of VSR products, including Suji, Raw Peanut Butter, Maida, Poha, Besan, and Bajra, valued at Rs. 30,000. Additionally, suspected infested Whole Farm Ragi Flour and Toor Dal worth Rs. 52,000 were seized, with samples sent to the lab for further analysis. Notices will be issued, and appropriate actions will be taken based on the finding, the Commissioner of Food Safety in Telangana said in the post.
