Superintendent RKS Dhakad of Jayarogya Hospital shed light on the dire situation, stating, "They fell ill possibly due to food poisoning. They had eaten paneer sabji, which might have resulted in the food poisoning."
The severity of the students' condition has raised concerns, but as per official reports, the situation is currently under control. Amit Yadav, the institute's registrar, initially suspected that the students had suffered from viral fever when a few of them fell ill on Tuesday. However, a medical examination revealed an underlying infection, and by Tuesday evening, nearly 100 students had fallen ill.
While close to 70 of the affected students are showing signs of recovery after receiving medication, all the students remain under close medical observation, with none of them reported to be in serious condition.
The immediate focus is on scrutinizing the food served at the institute's mess, which is believed to be the source of the food poisoning incident. An in-depth examination is underway to determine the exact cause and prevent any further such incidents.
