Following surge in COVID cases in Manipur, Health Ministry deploys multi-disciplinary team
These team will assess the situation, suggest remedial actions, and report every evening by 7 PM on the public health activities being undertaken to besides submitting the same to State government.

Pradeep Khasnobis, DDG, DM cell, MoHFW stated, “In view of upsurge in COVID-19 cases being reported by Manipur, a decision has been taken to deploy a multi-disciplinary Central team to aid State Health Department in their efforts for management of COVID- 19. The team will specifically look at areas of (i) Testing, including genomic sequencing for SARSCoV-2 variants (ii) Contact tracing, including surveillance, containment operations, (iii) COVID Appropriate Behaviors, (iv) Availability of höspital beds, sufficient logistics including ambulances, & hospital wise case fatality analysis and (v) COVID- 19 vaccination progress.”
These team will assess the situation, suggest remedial actions, and report every evening by 7 PM on the public health activities being undertaken to besides submitting the same to State government. All institutional heads are requested to ensure that the team members are relieved accordingly. Team's deployment shall be coordinated by Sr. Regional Directors, RoHFW, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of the respective States.
