Flight Cancelled due to snowfall: Srinagar Airport suspends operations
Hours after announcing the cancellation of 22 flights, Srinagar Airport suspended all flight operations due to snowfall on Friday. Srinagar received heavy rain and snowfall, leading to disruptions across road transportation and flight operations.

"In view of continuous snowfall, accumulation of snow on operational areas, and the prevailing forecast of adverse weather en route, all flight operations at Srinagar Airport stand cancelled for the day in the interest of passenger safety," the airport authority said in a passenger advisory

Snowfall disrupted air travel, as Srinagar Airport and IndiGo announced temporary suspension and cancellation of several flights. Alongside this, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was also closed, with movement also stopped at JakhChowk in Udhampur.


IndiGo issued a travel advisory stating that flight operations in Srinagar have been temporarily suspended due to snowfall. On standby, the airline is completing boarding formalities in advance to ensure readiness for departure as soon as the aircraft receives clearance. It also warned that delays may occur and urged travellers to check their latest flight status and use available options to rebook or request a refund.

In a post on X, IndiGo said, "Due to snowfall in Srinagar, flight operations, both take-offs and landings, have been temporarily put on hold. This may lead to extended wait times both onboard and on the ground. To ensure we are ready for departure as soon as we receive clearance, our team may complete boarding formalities in advance. We understand that delays can be inconvenient, and we assure you that our team remains fully committed to make your wait as comfortable as possible."

"We are closely monitoring the weather and will get you on your way as soon as conditions allow. Customers are advised to check their latest flight status before heading to the airport. If your flight is impacted, options to rebook or request a refund are available...," the post read.

Srinagar Airport also announced cancellation of several flights to and from the airport due to ongoing snowfall. The airport authory informed that a NOTAM has been issued at Delhi Airport.

"Please note that some flights to/from Srinagar Airport stand cancelled as of now today due to a NOTAM in force at Delhi Airport and ongoing snowfall conditions at Srinagar. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines before planning their journey. We regret the inconvenience caused," Srinagar airport authority said in a post on X.

Srinagar Flights Cancelled List

The Srinagar Airport shared a list of 26 flights, including arrival and departure, that were cancelled due to snowfall and NOTAM in Delhi.

22 Srinagar flights have been cancelled on Friday due to heavy snowfall that has disrupted normal life in the city.
