A significant fire erupted at a timber and plywood factory in Delhi early Sunday morning
New Delhi: A fire broke out in a timber and plywood factory near the Rajdhani Metro Station here early Sunday, with the Delhi Fire Service deploying 25 fire units, an official said.

No casualties have been reported.

The blaze was reported around 3 am at the timber godown in Assam Timber Market, they said.


"Initially, nine fire units were rushed to the spot, following which additional fire tenders were pressed into service. The fire was declared a major fire at around 3:24 am," the officer said.

The blaze was brought under control around 6:30 am.

The fire broke out in a timber godown located in the basement of a building comprising basement, ground/stilt and two floors, spread over around 2,000 square yards, he said.
