Eleven fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site, and the flames were brought under control by approximately 9:40 am, according to DFS authorities. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities have initiated a preliminary investigation to assess the extent of the damage and to identify what might have triggered the incident.
According to a TOI report, the flames erupted around 8:55 am and spread through three storeys of the four-storey library building of the college.
