Oshiwara Furniture Market Fire
At least ten shops were gutted after a fire broke out at a furniture market in suburban Oshiwara here on Tuesday morning, an official said. The official said there was no report of casualty in the blaze that erupted around 11.30 am in the market on Swami Vivekanand Marg.

He said more than 20 fire engines, water tankers and other equipment have been pressed into service to contain the fire that has been categorised as Level 2 (major).

The official said the blaze began at a furniture godown and spread to the adjacent shops on the ground floor of the market.


He added that the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
