Kolkata RG Kar horror: Trainee doctor’s father recalls last conversation with her daughter, demands justice
The father of the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder victim expressed his deep emotions on Friday, revealing that while he lost his daughter, he feels he gained the support of millions. His comments came amidst the global 'Reclaim the Night' protests, reported TOI. During his statement, he requested the public to avoid naming his daughter, sharing disturbing photos of her body, and spreading misinformation.

However, the victim's mother brought new allegations against the police. She recounted that they received a call from the hospital assistant superintendent at 10:53 am on the day of the incident, describing it as a suicide. They weren't able to see the body until 3 pm. Facing immense pressure, they even encountered individuals attempting to damage their car. When Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited their home, they expressed their doubts about Sanjay Roy, the accused.

The father emphasized their legal efforts to hasten a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, stating, "CM Mamata Banerjee had herself said she wanted a CBI probe. We moved court, seeking to expedite it."

Regarding the ongoing movement and protests, the mother expressed full support, saying, "We are in 100% support of the movement and the protests taking place across the country and abroad. We send our love to all the protesters. We consider everyone as our own sons and daughters."

On Thursday, a CBI team led by joint director V. Chandrasekhar visited the victim's home in Sodepur. Arriving around 4:30 pm, the four-member team spent over an hour speaking with the family and gathering information. Chandrasekhar later stated, "The investigation is going on. We have taken the parents' statements."

The victim's father mentioned that they provided all the documents and evidence they had to the CBI officers. "The CBI officers met us and spoke to us. They took away all the evidence and documents we had," he said.
