FASTag 2.0? India launches first barrier-free toll system on Mumbai-Delhi highway
India’s first barrier-free toll plaza has gone live at Choryasi on NH48 near Surat. The MLFF system uses ANPR cameras and FASTag RFID sensors to deduct tolls automatically, allowing vehicles to pass without stopping. The government plans to expand AI-based tolling nationwide by 2026.
