Fast-track court to begin hearing 2026 NEET-UG paper leak case in Delhi court

A Special Fast Track Court constituted under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, is set to begin proceedings in the 2026 NEET-UG paper leak case, marking the first hearing before the newly established court.

The court, located at Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court Complex, will hear the bail applications of accused Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal, who were arrested in connection with the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.

The hearing will be the first to be conducted by the Special Fast Track Court in the NEET-UG paper leak case since its constitution under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.


The establishment of the dedicated court is aimed at ensuring the expeditious trial of cases registered under the anti-paper leak law, which was enacted to curb unfair practices in public examinations and strengthen the integrity of recruitment and entrance tests.

The proceedings are expected to set the stage for future hearings in the high-profile NEET-UG paper leak investigation.

The case comes days after a nationwide student agitation over the alleged paper leak, led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), was called off following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

During the peak of the Cockroach Janta Party-led Gen-Z protests last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described examination paper leaks as a "ghor paap" (grave sin) and said the government had acted swiftly by arresting the accused, conducting the NEET re-examination without delay and putting stringent safeguards in place to prevent future leaks. He also said those responsible would face the strictest punishment and urged the Centre and states to work together to curb examination malpractice.

The establishment of the dedicated fast-track court is expected to expedite proceedings in the NEET-UG paper leak case and other offences registered under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
