— The Bharat bandh is from 6 am to 6 pm today (Friday, March 26).

— Farmers' protest has been on at Delhi's border points since last year.

Today is the day of the Bharat Bandh called by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM). Yesterday, the organisation had issued a call to people to try and make the bandh successful.

The strike has been called from 6 am to 6 pm today (Friday, March 26).

Apart from markets and public places, road and rail transport will also remain closed during the bandh, according to claims made by the front of protesting farmer unions.

A day ahead of the planned bandh, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) president Rakesh Tikait said in Jaipur that agitating farmers may have to go to Delhi and breach barricades again.

It has been months that protesting farmers have been camping at the capital's borders as part of an agitation against Modi government's new farm laws. Continuous protest has been on at three of Delhi's border points — Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri — since late last year.

The main demands of protesting farmers include the repeal of the three laws and a legal assurance on MSP.
