“My fingerprints will not be there. Good bank. Could not get a single rupee. So, don’t catch me,” the message from the burglar read.
The break-in at a Telangana-based bank happened late at night on Thursday. It was the next morning when the bank staff arrived at the site and found the door of the bank open.
The bank management also showed the message written on a newspaper by the burglar to the police.
The bank authorities and police have confirmed that the lockers were intact.
Police suspect that the burglar is a local from Mancherial and is not a professional one.
CCTV camera was able to capture the burglar’s entry and his movements. In the footage recovered, the suspected burglar is said to have covered his face to avoid recognition.
Even though the burglar has appreciated bank's security system, the local police officials have called the measures to protect the bank to be weak.
“In the past, we had asked the bank to beef up its security by setting up a grilled door, alarm and a security guard,” said TOI quoting a police official.
The official added that only the locker door has an alarm.
