Discussions with F1 organizers are expected to take place soon, and the aim is to hold both F1 and MotoGP events annually at the circuit.
Could Formula One return to India? The success of MotoGP Bharat has put wind in the sails of efforts that have quietly begun to bring back the supercars. As per a TOI report, senior officials at the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) revealed talks were on to reintroduce the F1 at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in 2025.

Formula One, which has legions of fans in India, held its first Indian Grand Prix at the BIC in 2011, but made an abrupt exit after the 2013 race once the UP government decided to withdraw the exemption it had given the organizer on entertainment tax. The decision imposed a long spell of hibernation on the BIC.

YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh confirmed that efforts to bring F1 back were underway. He stated that discussions with its organizers are likely to take place soon. Both F1 and MotoGP have private commercial rights holders, though each sport is managed by a world governing body - FIM (Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme) for MotoGP and FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) for F1.

Singh said it would be a "significant achievement" if both events were held at BIC annually.

Marco Bezzecchi of the Mooney VR46 team won the inaugural MotoGP Bharat. The 13th round of the famous MotoGP series was hosted at the Buddh International Circuit. Between 2011 and 2013, this Indian track hosted three Formula One races.
