The committee also cleared a data centre by Web Werks India at Pattandur Agrahara in Bengaluru at an investment of Rs 530 crore, with a potential of 69 jobs.
The state high level clearance committee, headed by chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, on Monday cleared five new projects including a big-ticket investment by the battery maker Exide Energy, and four proposals for additional investments in existing plants.

The investments proposed total up to Rs 11,495 crore, projecting 47,000 jobs.

Exide Energy will invest Rs 6002 crore in a facility to manufacture li-ion cells, modules and packs at the defence and aerospace park, near the international airport in Bengaluru. The unit has projected 1400 jobs. The same site will also have Rs 2231 crore in investments by another company Tetrarch Developers which has proposed a multi-sector industrial park, aerospace and defence data centres.


The committee also cleared a data centre by Web Werks India at Pattandur Agrahara in Bengaluru at an investment of Rs 530 crore, with a potential of 69 jobs.
