Delhi’s air quality has deteriorated

Delhi’s air has turned toxic again and neighbouring cities such as Gurugram and Noida are close behind. Vehicles in the capital and fires in nearby states are the biggest factors, and the forecast shows pollution drifting in from western UP by November 8.

Data shows that 58 cities across India recorded air quality in poor, very poor or severe category on Friday. India’s average PM2.5 concentration in 2025 was nearly 10 times the World Health Organization (WHO) guideline.
