EOW books globe capital on alleged Rs 35 crore fraud

According to the FIR, the brokerage “wrongfully hypothecated the complainant’s shares and carried out unauthorised trading activities”, including repetitive buy-sell transactions in the futures and options segment with the same counterparty.

MUMBAI: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police registered an FIR against brokerage firm Globe Capital Market, alleging that the company manipulated trades, fabricated account statements and caused a loss of Rs 35 crore to a senior citizen couple.

Globe Capital was not immediately available for comment.

According to the FIR, the brokerage “wrongfully hypothecated the complainant’s shares and carried out unauthorised trading activities”, including repetitive buy-sell transactions in the futures and options segment with the same counterparty.
