Entry and exit at Yamuna Bank Metro Station open now: DMRC

Entry and exit of passengers at the Yamuna Bank Metro Station on the Blue Line has been opened for now as water levels of the Yamuna river decreased, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) informed on Sunday.

On July 13, the entry and exit at the Yamuna Bank Metro station were temporarily closed due to the rising water level of the Yamuna River. The swollen Yamuna has crossed the danger mark, breaching the all-time record of 1978, flooding low-lying areas near the banks.

According to the data shared by the Central Water Commission on their portal, the water level in the Yamuna River decreased slightly in the morning and reached 206.02 metres, but the waterlogging situation was yet to improve at many places.


DMRC has also removed speed restriction imposed while crossing Metro bridges over Yamuna River yesterday.

"Speed restriction imposed while crossing Metro bridges over Yamuna has been removed. All trains are running at normal speed now."

Due to rising water levels of the Yamuna, DMRC had imposed a speed restriction of 30 km/h while crossing Metro bridges over Yamuna. But, announced normal services on all the other corridors.


Though the level is continuously decreasing, the four districts of the capital -- North, South-East, North-East, and Central -- which have been badly affected have a lot of area still submerged in water. Traffic has also been badly affected due to this.
