An Election Commission team, led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar, visited Mizoram on Tuesday .

The commission team held meetings with state government officials and reviewed the preparedness of the state Assembly election.

An official of Mizoram Election Department said that the CEC accompanied by Election Commissioners -- Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel -- held the review meeting on poll preparations for the next Assembly elections in Mizoram with Chief Electoral Officer Madhup Vyas and other officials at Aijal (Repeat Aijal) Club.


The Commission also held meetings with the national and state level parties and heard their views and suggestions.

The 40-member Mizoram Assembly will go to the polls towards the end of this year.
