Meanwhile Partha Chatterjee, former Education Minister, was interrogated by the CBI, on May 18, following Calcutta High Court’s Single Bench order which directed Chatterjee to appear before CBI office, in connection with alleged recruitment irregularities in Group- D and C recruitment and other positions by West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC). He appeared for the second time on April 26.
Chatterjee holds two portfolios of Parliamentary Affairs and Commerce and Industries at present.
Minister of State (MoS) for Education Paresh Adhikari was also quizzed by the CBI and his daughter was asked not to enter the school premises and lost her job. Ankita Adhikari had allegedly got a job flouting certain recruitment rules.
