As per officials, some other premises of linked people were also being covered.
In May, MP Sanjay Singh wrote a letter to Finance Secretary T V Somanathan, expressing his concerns. He stated that the ED Director and Assistant Director had falsely associated him with an alleged liquor scam, damaging his reputation without any substantial evidence to support such claims.
Sanjay Singh pointed out that his inclusion in the matter was solely based on statements made by Dinesh Arora. Additionally, he accused these officials of abusing their authority to tarnish his public image. Consequently, he called for legal action against them and disclosed that he had already sent a legal notice, urging them to issue a public apology to rectify the situation.
There have been accusations that the excise policy of the Delhi government for the year 2021-22, which involved the issuance of licenses to liquor traders, may have facilitated collusion among certain traders and appeared to provide preferential treatment to those who were suspected of having offered bribes.
Manish Sisodia, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and a colleague of Sanjay Singh within the same political party, is behind bars in connection with a liquor-related corruption case.
Sisodia, who had previously served as both the Deputy CM and the Excise Minister of Delhi, was initially apprehended by the CBI on February 26 due to his purported involvement in the scandal.
Subsequently, he tendered his resignation from the Delhi Cabinet on February 28.
