According to an official statement, the poll panel will accept feedback from political parties until April 30. It has also reached out to parties, urging them to help address outstanding issues at various levels, including the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) level. The initiative aims to strengthen electoral processes in line with established laws.
In a letter issued on March 11, the Commission proposed interactions with party presidents and senior leaders at a mutually convenient time to further enhance the electoral framework.
Meanwhile, the BJD, BJP, and AITC have agreed to nominate their Booth Level Agents, polling agents, counting agents, and election agents for the ECI’s specialized training programs tailored for party representatives.
Last week, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar presided over a conference, instructing CEOs, DEOs, and EROs across all states and union territories to hold regular consultations with political parties. He emphasized that any suggestions received in such meetings must be addressed strictly within the legal framework.
Additionally, the Commission has requested an action taken report by March 31, 2025.
