The individual is otherwise stated to be in good health and officials were careful to emphasise that the isolation is purely a precautionary measure.
“A sample has been collected and dispatched to the National Institute of Virology for testing, with results still awaited,” a source said.

“All necessary public health protocols are being followed in accordance with WHO guidelines,” the Ministry said, adding that it is working in close coordination with Karnataka state authorities to maintain surveillance.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed that no case of Ebola Virus Disease has been confirmed in India so far.
The ministry has been closely tracking the situation following recent outbreaks in parts of Africa.
The Ministry also confirmed that screening and monitoring measures remain in place at all designated Points of Entry across the country. It has urged people not to panic and to rely only on official government sources for information, as authorities seek to prevent the spread of misinformation.
India has faced Ebola scares before typically linked to travellers from affected African nations and has in each instance activated surveillance mechanisms without any confirmed domestic transmission.
Health ministry officials say the situation is being watched carefully but that the public has no cause for alarm at this stage.
