Shah said that people blame Modi for everything that’s wrong in the country but the fact is that things were wrong in the country even before Modi came to power.
The 73-year-old actor in the interview said, "Muslims are worrying about all the wrong things like Hijab and the length of Sania Mirza’s skirt. They should be instead worried about education, enlightening, modern ideas instead of Madrassas.”
“The Muslims have been at fault,” he said in the interview.
“Until this election, the PM believed that he is invincible and right about everything,” said Shah criticising Narendra Modi.
“Modi has been talking less and less sense over the years,” he added.
Shah described Modi’s continued leadership as “depressing, but not surprising,” pointing to what he perceives as deep-rooted animosity towards Muslims.
He also said, "Sharing power for the Indian PM would be a difficult pill to swallow but he will have to do it." Although he did mention that he is not a political expert and is speaking only as a “common man” in the interview.
In 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA won 293 seats in the 543-member lower house of parliament, more than the simple majority of 272 seats needed to form a government. The BJP won only 240.
