A mild earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale struck Jhajjar, Haryana, on Thursday afternoon—marking the third tremor in the region within just one week.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the quake occurred at 12:34 PM at a shallow depth of 5 kilometers. Its epicentre was pinpointed at latitude 28.64 N and longitude 76.75 E.

This seismic activity follows another minor quake that shook nearby Rohtak just the night before. Fortunately, no injuries or property damage have been reported from either location.

Over the past week, Jhajjar has witnessed a series of earthquakes. The strongest among them was a 4.4-magnitude quake that struck last Thursday, making it the most intense in the recent sequence. Additionally, on July 11, the region experienced a 3.7-magnitude earthquake.

The recurrence of these tremors highlights increased seismic activity in the area, though officials continue to monitor the situation closely.
