New Delhi: External affairs minister S Jaishankar held telephonic conversations with the Iranian foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Israel's foreign affairs minister Gideon Sa'ar and other counterparts in West Asia following the launch of the US-Israel military offensive against Iran.

Amid the conflict, including retaliatory strikes from Iran on US allies in West Asia, which can impact India's deep economic and security interests in the region, Jaishankar spoke to his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Kuwait's FM Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Bahrain's foreign minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. He held separate phone conversations with Qatar PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and the UAE foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. In his conversation with Iran's Araghchi, Jaishankar conveyed India's deep concern over the developments.
