Dutch Queen Maxima meets FM Nirmala Sitharaman, offers India support for G20 Presidency

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday offering support for India's upcoming G20 presidency.

Queen Maxima, who is United Nations Secretary General's Special Advocate (UNSGSA) and Honorary Patron of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) also lauded India's advanced digital public goods infrastructure for financial and economic inclusion.

"@UNSGSA called on FM Smt. @nsitharaman in New Delhi, today. She lauded India's advanced digital public goods infrastructure, particularly #IndiaStack for financial & economic inclusion & offered support for upcoming #G20India Presidency," Finance Ministry tweeted.


Sitharaman appreciated the contributions of UNSGSA towards financial inclusion, especially towards the underserved and vulnerable sections of the population, another ministry tweet read.

The Finance Minister also shared India's successful experiences on interoperable payment systems and account aggregator initiative.

India will take over the G20 presidency from Indonesia on December 1, 2022.

She is also scheduled to have an online meeting with Reserve Bank of India governor Shaktikanta Das. She will also meet G20 sherpa, Amitabh Kant.
