New Delhi: The Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2026 will track key indicators to assess the health of the sector, including sources of funds to start a business, challenges faced by an establishment and reasons for remaining unregistered, according to a draft questionnaire released by the statistics ministry on Wednesday.

The calendar-year survey is scheduled to begin in January 2026. Meanwhile, ASUSE 2025 is underway and its findings will be released in March.

The ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI) has invited feedback on the draft survey schedule from policymakers, researchers and industry bodies by December 20.

ASUSE is conducted to measure key economic and operational characteristics of unincorporated non-agricultural establishments in manufacturing, trade and other services (excluding construction), the ministry said.
