DPIIT official Manmeet Nanda appointed new MD & CEO of Invest India

The board of Invest India has appointed Manmeet K Nanda as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the investment promotion and facilitation body under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Nanda, is joint secretary in the DPIIT and succeeds Deepak Bagla, who resigned from the post last week.

In its meeting held on Monday, the board approved the appointment of Nanda, an IAS officer of the West Bengal Cadre of 2000 Batch, as the MD and CEO (additional charge), the commerce and industry ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Board of Invest India is chaired by DPIIT secretary Anurag Jain. Other members of the board include P K Tripathi, secretary (Coordination) in Cabinet Secretariat, Arti Bhatnagar, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in DPIIT, Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh, Joint Secretary in the external affairs ministry and industry captains such as Mahindra Group chairperson Anand Mahindra, Cadilla Healthcare chairperson Pankaj R Patel and Ambuja Neotia Group chairperson Harshvardhan Neotia, and industry associations including Confederation of Indian Industry and NASSCOM.
