Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) arrested three suspected terror operatives and seized weapons along with some toxins.

Gujarat ATS DIG Sunil Joshi said that the arrested include Dr Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed from Hyderabad, and two men from Uttar Pradesh - Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Saleem.

Joshi told the media that Saiyed holds a medical degree from China and allegedly was in touch with operatives of Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) based in Afghanistan.

According to Joshi, Saiyed was arrested near Adalaji check post in Gandhinagar on Friday, based on a tip-off, and three pistols and several rounds of ammunition apart from some castor oil was seized from him. The DIG said that castor oil was to be used to produce ricin, a potent toxin, which he claimed is more lethal that cyanide. Further investigation led to two of his accomplices Suleman Sheikh and Suhail Saleem, who were picked up from Banaskantha. The duo allegedly sourced weapons from Hanumangarh in Rajasthan and delivered to Saiyed.
