Ghaziabad DJ kills Mother for Rs 20,000 speaker; friends hold her by hands while son uses bricks smash her face

In a gruesome murder, a 26-year-old man was arrested with two of his friends for allegedly killing his mother with a brick after she refused to give him Rs 20,000 to repair his music system, reported TOI.

Mohit, police reported, picked up his 55-year-old mother, Sangeeta Tyagi, from her workplace and took her to a secluded area near Tronica City on his motorcycle. There, with the help of two friends who restrained her, he brutally attacked her with a brick.

Sangeeta worked at a thread manufacturing factory, and on October 4, she was found dead in Mandola village, just 300 meters from her workplace.


Sangeeta had two sons: Manish, who is a security guard in Delhi with his wife and children, and Mohit, who works as a DJ. Their father, Sunil, is a caretaker in Hapur.

Earlier in the month, Mohit had requested ₹20,000 from Sangeeta to repair his speakers and attend a temple in Delhi’s Kalkaji for Navratri. When she refused and insulted him instead, threatening to transfer their property to Manish, Mohit became enraged.

On the night of October 2, he went to Kalkaji for a ritual and returned home the following morning. After waking up that afternoon, he visited a liquor shop in Mandola, where he met friends Sachin Tyagi and Ankit. While drinking with them, he expressed his anger over his mother’s refusal to give him money and her insults.

Encouraged by his friends, Mohit plotted to kill Sangeeta. Around 9 PM on October 3, he borrowed Sachin's bike to pick her up from the factory, claiming he would take her home. Instead, he drove her to an isolated location where Sachin and Ankit were waiting. While they held her hands, Mohit fatally struck her with a brick.

Mohit and his accomplices were arrested from their homes in Mandola on Thursday, and the motorcycle used in the crime was seized. All three have been charged under Section 103 (murder) of the BNS.
