Mumbai: There was high drama on Saturday evening outside 'Matoshree,' the residence of Uddhav Thackeray, as father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, Satish Salian, arrived with his legal team to serve a ₹500 crore defamation notice to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray.

Holding copies of the Constitution, Salian and his lawyer Nilesh Ojha marched to the gates of Thackeray's residence amidst heavy media presence and issued the notice.

Salian's notice comes after social media posts by Aaditya Thackeray claiming that him being named in connection with the CBI's fresh probe into Disha Salian's death was entirely driven by political motives. Salian has sued the UBT leader, calling his statements "false and defamatory" and giving him seven days to issue a public apology.

"We could have sent the notice by post but since their people threatened us that they would not allow us to roam freely, we wanted to send a message to them that we are not afraid of you. We want to remove the fear from people. This is a fight for poor people; this is a people's fight," Ojha said while speaking to the media before issuing the notice.
