The WhatsApp message to the police personnel stated, “Range officers/ All SSPs/ Cos – Recent past has seen a SP being placed under suspension and another being transferred on issues relating to professional performance closely linked to financial integrity issues. A close watch is being kept on personal integrity alongside professional performance at all levels. DV&AC has also been keeping a close watch on undesirable contacts and middlemen being employed/ used by SSPs/ ASP/DSP/SDPO/OCs/ICs. Please be extremely careful.”
Recently the vigilance wing of the state government has caught several state government employees red handed while taking bribes.
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate of Assam police on Saturday arrested a Sub-Inspector in central Assam’s Nagaon district on the charges of bribery.The arrested police Sub-Inspector was identified as Anup Kakati and he was posted at the Kachua police station in the Nagaon district.

A total of 21 public servants have been trapped and arrested this year. In the last 10 days, seven public servants, including three Gazetted Officers were trapped and arrested.
