Dilapidated Rajasthan school demolished for reconstruction following CJP’s highlight

Authorities demolished a dilapidated government school building in Rajasthan’s Rampura (Kanwarpura) village on Wednesday after its poor condition was recently brought to light by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).

Footage from the scene shows a bulldozer knocking down the structure under the supervision of district administration and education department officials.

“A few days ago, our team was attacked while on their way to inspect this school, which was being run under a broken shed. Congratulations to everyone, this school is now being rebuilt!" CJP wrote in an X post.

Building previously deemed unsafe

According to news agency PTI, a technical survey conducted in September 2025 had already declared the Government Primary School’s old building dilapidated and unsafe, leading to it being taken out of service.

The Rajasthan government announced last month that a replacement facility would be built with a budget of Rs 18 lakh. Funding for the project includes Rs 12 lakh sanctioned on August 13 from the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), along with Rs 6 lakh provided through the local MLA fund.

The facility became a point of national attention after a CJP delegation visited Rampura village last month as part of its ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign aimed at drawing focus to government school infrastructure. That visit sparked an altercation between CJP members and local residents, resulting in cross-FIRs being filed by both groups.
