According to officials, after the crash, flight operations at the airport were temporarily suspended and later resumed at 6.47 p.m. after thorough safety checks were conducted.
BMC Disaster Control officials told Times Now, that three passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital, while the remaining five were rescued from the plane that had met with the accident.
A spokesperson from Mumbai Airport confirmed that there were no fatalities in the crash. The incident involved VT-DBL, a non-scheduled charter Learjet business aircraft, which skidded off the runway during landing. Preliminary information suggests that the crash was attributed to heavy rains and low visibility at the time of the incident.
