Dharmendra health update: Bollywood's 'He-man' no more, film fraternity arrives to pay last respects

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra’s health had raised serious concern on Monday afternoon after an ambulance was seen leaving his Juhu residence, indicating a possible medical emergency.

However, later in the day, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar penned a heartfel tribute to the legend, confirming his death. Videos also surfaced where several actors, family members and others from film fraternity were spotted at the Pawan Hans Crematorium.

An official statement from the family or hospital is still awaited.


According to a report by Times Now, the 89-year-old actor’s condition was critical. Visuals from outside his residence showed an ambulance departing the premises, prompting worry among fans and film industry members who have been closely following updates on his health.

Dharmendra, fondly known as “He-Man” and “Dharam Paaji,” remains one of Hindi cinema’s most admired stars, with a legacy spanning six decades.

In recent months, concerns around his health have surfaced intermittently, though his family has not issued any confirmation about his current condition as of now.

Crowds and media personnel have begun gathering outside his residence and around Breach Candy Hospital, where he has been admitted in the past.

The 89-year-old star, was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month and was recovering at home. Last week, several top actors—including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan—were spotted visiting Breach Candy Hospital when Dharmendra was undergoing treatment.
