The Covid-19 helpdesk, started by the commerce and industry ministry last month to help resolve issues of exporters and importers, has within 15 days received 163 requests regarding policy clarity and relaxations, of which 78 have been resolved, the government said Monday.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade started a ‘Covid-19 Helpdesk’ from April 26 in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases. Major areas which flagged for support include import of oxygen concentrators, oximeters, Covid-related medical devices – regulations and relaxations, application status of licenses, incentives, banking and documentation related issues, customs clearance issues, export obligation extensions, and transport, port handling, shipping and air movement.
