He also launched the Online Drugs Disposal Fortnight Campaign, setting a target to destroy 2,09,500 kg of narcotic substances worth over Rs 6,000 crore. "We must adopt a ruthless approach towards drug traffickers and a sympathetic approach towards young victims of drug abuse. Financial investigation in major NDPS cases, along with freezing and seizure of proceeds of crime, will remain our priority," he said.

He directed states to develop their Anti-Narcotics Task Forces (ANTFs) into full-time, dedicated, well-equipped, and accountable units. To reduce demand for drugs, Drug-Free Zones will be created and public awareness campaigns will be undertaken with the participation of parents, teachers, educational institutions, youth organisations, and various ministries, he said.
