Denied her phone, angry wife ties up husband and gives electric shock

A 33-year-old woman, angered by her husband's confiscation of her phone due to his belief that she was spending excessive time on it, allegedly sedated him at night and tied him to the bed. The incident was reported by TOI. She then proceeded to beat him and administer electric shocks. When their 14-year-old son tried to intervene, he was also beaten. The incident occurred on May 18 in Mainpuri, police reported on Thursday.

The husband is currently receiving treatment at Saifai Medical College. In his complaint, the husband reported that his wife engaged in daily conversations with someone on her mobile phone. After he objected and informed her family, they advised him to take her phone, which infuriated her. She then threatened to kill both him and their son. On the night of May 18, she sedated him and subjected him to brutal torture, repeatedly hitting him with a cricket bat and causing severe injuries to his head and body. She also administered electric shocks. When their son attempted to intervene, she assaulted him as well.

In his complaint, the husband said: "My wife used to talk to someone daily on her mobile phone. I objected and informed her family. Following their advice, I took her phone, which enraged her. She threatened to kill me and my son. On the night of May 18, she sedated me and brutally tortured me, hitting me repeatedly with a cricket bat and causing severe head and body injuries. She also administered electric shocks. When my son tried to save me, she assaulted him as well."


Anil Kumar, SHO of Kishni police station, confirmed that a case under IPC sections 307, 328, and 506 has been registered against the accused woman, who is currently on the run.

Decomposed bodies of elderly sisters found in their home in Agra

The decomposed bodies of elderly sisters aged 61 and 59 years were found in their home here on Thursday with police suspecting suicide, officials said. According to police, the victims were unmarried and living together in the Arjun Nagar area.

The incident came to light when a person living on the ground floor noticed an odour emanating from the house on the first floor where the sisters lived and called the police, they said.

"The decomposed bodies of two elderly women have been found inside their house in Arjun Nagar, under the limits of the Shahganj Police Station. The door was closed from the inside. Police entered the room by breaking the door. Prima facie it seems to be an incident of suicide," Suraj Kumar Rai, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, Agra) said.

"The bodies were three to four days old and were sent for post-mortem," he said.

Further investigation is underway, he added.
