On Wednesday, the government assured the SKM that the mandate of the committee would be to ensure how the farmers can get MSP on their produce. In addition, the government said it will continue the procurement of crops at MSP.

"We have accepted all the proposals and are waiting for an official letter from the government on the same. We will decide in a meeting on Thursday," farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni told ET.
Bhartiya Kisan Union Dharmender Malik said, "It is a mere formality now. We are ready to end the agitation."
The government sent a fresh proposal after the SKM raised objections to a five-point proposal sent a day earlier. One of the demands was that the government should first withdraw the cases filed against the protesting farmers. The second point of difference was that the SKM did not want any farmer leader or unions who were supporting the government on the farm bills to be included in the committee on minimum support price (MSP) to be formed by the government.

The third and last point of difference was that the SKM did not want the government to bring the electricity bill to Parliament. The government said on Wednesday that it will take opinions from all stakeholders and the SKM before bringing the bill.
