An email was received at a school in Delhi's Greater Kailash area on Friday, threatening to blow up the school with a bomb. After investigation in the matter turned up no evidence, officials declared it a hoax threat. Legal action in the matter has been initiated. It was written in the email that a bomb was planted in the school on Thursday.

The Summer Fields School authorities alerted the Delhi Police immediately when the email was received around midnight. The police deployed a bomb squad as well as dog squad and after nothing suspicious was found, the call was declared to be hoax.

"We received an email late at night which was checked early morning today. As per the SOP, we evacuated the students within 10 minutes of receiving the email. We informed the police and district administration, and we are thankful to the police - they supported us magnificently as they came immediately. There are hardly any students here, we are just waiting for a few parents to come and collect their wards," said Shalini Agarwal, the Principal of the school.

On May 1, bomb threat targeted over 100 schools in Delhi-NCR. According to the Delhi Police, a total of 131 schools received threat emails on May 1. Later, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an official statement calling the email a 'hoax.'

Recently, schools, hospitals and airports have been targeted by bomb threats. Previously, over 60 schools, the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and over half a dozen government hospitals in the national capital received bomb threats through emails. Delhi police later said that nothing suspicious was found.

The hospitals that got bomb threat emails include -- Dada Dev Hospital in Dabri, Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital in Hari Nagar, Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Dilshad Garden, Hindu Rao Hospital in Malka Ganj, and Aruna Asaf Ali Govt Hospital of Rajpur Road. Soon after the bomb threats, a search operation was launched at all places.
