Delhi is gearing up for rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday, with wet weather expected to continue through the week, bringing some relief from the ongoing heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the day, warning of thunderstorms with lightning, dust storms, and strong winds.

Skies will be partly cloudy, with light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds that could help ease the heat. However, rising humidity may make the air feel heavier despite the rain.

Meanwhile, rainfall is expected to continue in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) throughout the week, as well, with thunderstorms and showers likely on most days.

Daytime temperatures are forecast to stay warm, ranging between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows will hover around 28 to 29 degrees Celsius. The IMD has also confirmed that no heatwave conditions are expected during this period.

Air quality in the city remains a concern. On Monday afternoon, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was at 201, putting it in the “poor” category. After a heavy dust storm, conditions improved slightly on Tuesday morning, with the AQI dropping to 195, categorized as “moderate.” Nearby NCR areas including Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad also reported moderate air quality.
