Delhi recorded a temperature of 7 degrees Celsius at 6:15 am on Thursday. Moreover, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for fog in the Delhi-NCR region for Thursday and Friday and has issued a yellow alert on Saturday.

The weather department said that a dense layer of fog will blanket most places in Delhi NCR on Thursday and Friday morning . The region will see mainly clear sky with smog or shallow fog likely during the evening on Thursday and Friday, it added.

Similarly, the weather body said that moderate to dense fog will engulf Delhi on Saturday.


Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 448, which falls under 'severe' category' at 2.30 am on Thursday. The air quality has deteriorated in the past few days due to lower temperatures and low wind speeds.


The AQI of the national capital breached the 'severe plus' mark at 11 pm on Wednesday, when it was recorded at 450. While the maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's normal.

The city's 24-hour average AQI was 433 at 4 pm on Wednesday, against 379 recorded the previous day.
