Residents in several parts of west Delhi will face a water supply disruption for 16 hours, starting from October 1, according to the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). The affected areas include Varun Niketan, Raja Garden, Ramesh Nagar, Khyala, Rani Bagh, Moti Nagar, Shanta Puri, Tagore Garden, Tilak Nagar, Rajouri Garden, and Hari Nagar.

Reason for Disruption

The DJB has attributed the disruption to major repair work on the 1100 mm diameter header line, which feeds the West Delhi Main (1100 mm diameter) and the Pitampura Main (1200 mm diameter) inside the Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant Phase-I. The supply will be either unavailable or available at low pressure from 10 am on October 1 to 2 am on October 2.

Preparation and Support

In response to the disruption, residents in the affected areas have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously. The DJB has also assured that water tankers will be available on request through its helpline or the central control room.

The DJB further urged people to prepare for the interruption, ensuring that all necessary measures are in place to provide assistance where needed.
