Delhi records maximum temperature of this season but relief likely soon
Heat wave conditions prevailed over south Haryana, Delhi southern parts of Uttar Pradesh, GangeticWest Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 43.7 degrees Celsius - four notches above normal and the maximum so far this year.
"Maximum temperatures saw a further rise in the mercury levels and Safdarjung recorded its maximum at 43.7 degrees Celsius. This is the highest maximum of the season so far and is 4 degrees above the normal levels. Weather conditions will be hot tomorrow but there might be a slight drop in the mercury levels," private weather forecaster Skymet said.
"However, massive relief from these heat wave like conditions is only expected around after a couple of days. Delhi is expected to experience decent showers on a few days between May 24th and 27th. During the period from May 24th to 26th, heavy rain, thundershowers, and gale-speed winds are anticipated, accompanied by lightning and a possibility of hailstorms," Skymet added.
