Delhi is set to witness moderate rainfall on Sunday, marking the fifth day of downpour on the trot, as per the India Met Department's forecast given on August 10.

The Met Department expects the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to settle around 32 and 26 degrees Celsius, with a generally cloudy sky throughout the day.

Rains lashed the national capital on Saturday prompting heavy traffic due to waterlogging in various parts of the city.


As per the Public Works Department, as many as 20 complaints of waterlogging were received during the day, while the Municipal Corporation of Delhi received five along with complaints of uprooting of trees

On Saturday, as per IMD's reading, Delhi's maximum temperature settled at 32.8 degree Celsius, one notch below the season's average, while the minimum temperature settled at 25.8 degree Celsius in the morning, 1.2 notch below normal.

Airlines issue advisory

The airlines on Sunday issued travel advisory in the wake of continuous rains in Delhi asking passengers to check their flight status as operations may be affected.

Indian airline SpiceJet said that due to bad weather in Delhi, all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected.


Budget carrier IndiGo also noted that the heavy downpour over Delhi may play rough with flight schedules.

Traffic woes grip Delhi

Delhi has been battling traffic caused due to waterlogging in various parts of the city. The police has issued advisory for commuters heading towards Najafgarh Phirni Road as traffic is affected due to waterlogging and breakdown of three Cluster Buses near Chhawla Stand.


Moreover, traffic is also affected on Rohtak Road in the carriageway from Nangloi towards Tikri Border due to potholes and water logging.

"Kindly avoid Mundka and take alternate route accordingly," the Delhi Traffic Police said on X.


Even on Saturday, traffic was hampered on Fateh Singh Marg, Old Kakrola Road, Najafgarh near Shyam Vihar Chowk, and Najafgarh-Nangloi Road due to potholes and collection of water.
