Panic spread at Delhi Public school (DPS), Mathura Road, in New Delhi today after school authorities received a bomb threat via e-mail.

The school premises had to be vacated, and a team of Delhi police conducted a thorough search operation of the premises around 8 am today following the threat. A fire tender has been rushed to the spot.

However, later Delhi police officials said that no suspicious object was found on the school premises.

"There is no threat as no suspicious object was found on the school premises yet. The situation is normal. Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog squad and SWAT team sanitising the school buildings," said DCP South East, Rajesh Deo told reporters at DPS, Mathura Road.

The Indian School in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar had received bomb threats twice -- in April this year and in November 2022. The most recent threat was made on April 12 via an email, following which the school was evacuated as the bomb squad and other agencies inspected the premises for any explosive substance. The mail was later declared a hoax.
